Gateway INS Nurses and Friends;
Can you believe it is another year already? And today, January 25th is IV Nurses Day. This is an internationally recognized day created in 1980 by the Infusion Nurses Society in recognition of this nursing specialty. This day is especially meaningful to nursing professionals who have dedicated their lives to this speciality.
While most organizations recognize nurses during Nurses Week every May, we wanted to also recognize the nurses committed to providing clinical excellence in infusion nursing. It is because of you that patients have positive outcomes when dealing with severe illnesses that have negatively affected their bodies, lives and families.
The Gateway INS recognizes the key role dedicated skilled infusion nurses provide to patients. Your dedication to giving excellent clinical care is validated by seeing them heal under your watchful eye.
The entire Leadership Team thanks you all for your skills and dedication to patients and our speciality practice.
As we enter into 2019 we want to offer new learning opportunites. We are in the process of securing vendors for this year. Our first educational program is being secured for March. We are proposing an upcoming General Meeting first to provide updates related to chapter status and a review of 2018. We will also be soliciting ideas and suggestions for upcoming educational programs.
Please remember we rely on the support of our local vendors to sponsor educational meetings. We surely appreciate any assistance you can provide in coordinating contact. I can be reached any time: Dana Hampton 314.660.3906.
Let’s make 2019 another excellent year!
Best Regards,
Gateway INS Chapter Leadership Team
