INS Announcement - Local Chapter

Dear Valued Chapter and Industrial Support Member;

Many of you may have already heard this information as it becomes public knowledge.  The Board of Directors (BOD) representatives for all local chapters recently received notice that the National Infusion Nurses Society is dissolving all local chapters nationally. We were presented with a deadline of April 11th to report our closing date.  In addition, we were asked to return all available funds in our bank accounts.  

Local chapter BOD representatives, led by Max Holder former board member for the INS,  held a meeting to discuss the bylaws, financials and various options. We discussed the need for continued infusion representation and opportunities to join various other professional organizations or forming independent groups.  A letter was drafted from the group to send to INS.  

We will notify the membership of the chapter of any action taken from our letter.  We are aware they are prepared with lawyers to support their stance. 

This news is frustrating as we have gained momentum over this past year. We want to do one last INS meeting to celebrate our members and vendor support. We are looking at dates in June. 

It is important to us to give you an opportunity to express your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. Therefore, we will be sending a survey monkey and ask for your participation to help determine our next steps. 

We appreciate your support over the years and know that future local educational opportunities & product support are invaluable.  Thank you for all you have done to advance our local Gateway INS.
